Hot off the presses! I have screencaps and Chris’ scenes from the film 42 where he played the part of Leo Durocher, the manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers at the time Major League Baseball was trying to break through the colour barrier. Durocher was instrumental in bringing in Jackie Robinson and making sure it wasn’t a ‘colour’ issue, but rather a sake of playing the game. Chris was handpicked by Robinson’s widow, Rachel, for the part due in part to his resemblance to Durocher, also his status as a major star. I’m so happy for Chris that he was able to play a part in this biopic. He shines in his scenes and it’s the reason I think LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT couldn’t hold him. He’d sort of moved beyond Stabler, considering the limited writing they were giving him. I think you’ll agree Chris is amazing in this.

Chris To Star In New Comedy Pilot
christopher meloni online    March 14, 2013    0 comments

Looks like Chris may be heading back to television. He’s bagged a pilot called I Suck At Girls for FOX. More below.

Christopher Meloni to Star in Fox’s ‘I Suck at Girls’ Adaptation

The “Law & Order: SVU” alum will topline the comedy pilot from Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Bill Lawrence.

Christopher Meloni is returning to his comedy roots. The Law & Order: SVU alum has landed the starring role in Fox’s adaptation of Justin Halpern’s book I Suck at Girls, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The untitled comedy is described as a story about a boy becoming a man, and a man becoming a father, in a time before coming of age was something you could Google

Meloni — who began his career with roles in sitcoms The Fanelli Boys, Dinosaurs, The Boys and the cult feature Wet Hot American Summer, will star as Jack Dunlevy, a no-nonsense guy who until recently has been the go to work early, come home late, yell at his kids and go to bed type of guy. When his wife returns to law school and he’s tasked with taking a more active role in his children’s lives, he’s stuck with the responsibilities that come with being a full-time parent. Rather than adhere to society’s parenting rules, Jack opts to bring his own blunt style to parenting.

Deception’s Connor Buckley will star as his teenage son Frankie, while Claudia Lee will portray his daughter, Rachel.

Halpern and Patrick Schumacker (S#*! My Dad Says) will pen the script and executive produce alongside Cougar Town’s Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold. Victor Nelli will direct the Warner Bros. Television and Doozer Productions’ single-camera pilot.

Meloni, who most recently had an arc on HBO’s True Blood, played Detective Elliot Stabler on NBC’s SVU for 12 seasons, earning an Emmy nomination for the role in 2006. He’s repped by Gersh and Industry Entertainment. The Fox pilot would mark his first series regular role since NBC’s veteran procedural. Meloni next appears in features White Bird in a Blizzard, Small Time, 42, Man of Steel and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.

More on Chris’ “Sin City 2” Character
christopher meloni online    January 11, 2013    0 comments

I have a little more on Chris’ SIN CITY 2: A DAME TO DIE FOR character. Apparently he’ll be playing a…wait for it…a cop. No word as to his name yet. I don’t know about anyone else but I’m so happy for Chris. There are a lot of idiots out there who said he’d never amount to much after leaving SVU. Considering his list of current projects I’d pretty much say that he’s more in demand than ever. Too bad these Debby Downers don’t pay more attention to the sad state of affairs at SVU. Ratings are in the toilet and from what I get, the show has pretty much become LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL COLD CASE SQUAD. Yep, things are looking up for Chris.
