Chris Added To Amy Schumer Film

Chris has been added to the now filming unnamed Amy Schumer film. I’ll keep track of the film and Chris’ role in it. Article to follow.

Amy Schumer’s Fox Action/Comedy Adds Christopher Meloni

EXCLUSIVE: Just one day before the Underground Season 1 final on WGN America, Christopher Meloni has found his next big screen gig. The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit alum, who plays slave hunter August Pullman on Underground, is joining Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn’s still Untitled Mother-Daughter adventure comedy from Fox, I’ve learned.

Meloni will play Roger Simmons in the Jonathan Levine directed and Katie Dippold written pic. The character is a man who is on the search for hidden treasure after having been diagnosed with terminal cancer. The film is based on the Ghostbusters reboot scribe’s relationship with her own mother.

Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping are producing the pic through Chernin Entertainment, and Paul Feig and Jessie Henderson are producing through Feigco Entertainment. Providing additional script work, Schumer and Kimberly Caramele are also EPS along with Dippold while Daria Cercek is overseeing for Twentieth Century Fox.

In addition to joining the Levine helmed film, Meloni is expected to be back for Season 2 of Underground and will be back as a part of Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later in 2017 on Netflix. On the big screen, Meloni will be seen in the May 13 released I Am Wrath with John Travolta and will also be seen in Marauders with Bruce Willis, set to come out later this year.

Meloni is repped by Gersh and Industry Entertainment.

On behalf of UNABRIDGED, I want to wish Chris a happy birthday. Chris turns 55 today and I’m hoping he spends today with Sherman, Dante and Sophia and a ton of friends, good wine (except if he’s flying), a huge cake, and a wonderful day. Take care Chris and here’s to many more.

I know I haven’t been up-to-date on Chris’ work on UNDERGROUND and other things, but I’ve been entirely too busy to make any updates. I’m trying to get organized amid other things going on in the private life that have taken my concentration away. And I’m truly sorry for the lack of those updates. I’m working on them. Please be patient.

Chris Talks Why Stabler & Benson Never Hooked Up
christopher meloni online    March 31, 2016    0 comments

In his recent appearance on INSIDE THE ACTORS STUDIO with James Lipton, Chris explained why when he was on LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT his character of Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) never hooked up. I’d have to say I agree with him. There should never have been any flirtation with the exception that Neal Baer wanted to give Olivia a family and a love life. I think it would have been such a wrong thing considering too that Elliot was in love with Kathy (Isabel Gillies) and his kids. At no point during the first six and a half seasons did we get any hint of any earnings with Benson, but then Dick Wolf was still fully in charge. When he went off to start his film company he left, bad mistake, Baer in charge who clearly had taken a shining to Benson due to his prior relationship with Hargitay on ER. I’m editorializing I know, but what I said is no less true. Onto what Chris said.

Chris Meloni Explains Why Benson & Stabler Didn’t Hook Up

Rachel and Ross got together. Jim and Pam hooked up and got married. Benson and Stabler…well…never did a damn thing.

Though Chris Meloni no longer stars on Law & Order: SVU, fans are still wondering why he and Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson never used those handcuffs on one another (wink, wink). Sure, Stabler was married, but he and Kathy’s separation would have made an office romance possible (and it did, though unfortunately with a different detective). Benson, meanwhile, had her own dating life and a schedule jam-packed with, you know, kicking ass. Still, couldn’t they have snuck in one little make-out session?

Meloni shed some light on why a hookup never happened during his appearance on Inside the Actors Studio, airing tonight on Bravo.

“I think they [the producers] always knew [a romance] would be the death knell of that relationship,” he said. “I think they needed to keep that line taut and very clear… Keep the tension, never cross it.”

Ugh, fine. We can still ship, though, right?

Christopher Meloni Set for Bravo’s INSIDE THE ACTORS STUDIO

Bravo Media’s Emmy Award-winning “Inside the Actors Studio,” hosted by James Lipton welcomes Christopher Meloni to the stage onThursday, March 31st at 8pm ET/PT. The Emmy-nominated actor reveals the road that led him to his breakout role as psychotic, bisexual serial killer, Chris Keller, in HBO’s “Oz” and how he felt about the character’s demands for an honest portrayal of sexuality. He also discusses his critically-acclaimed 12-season run as Detective Elliot Stabler in NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” including his personal and professional relationship with co-star Mariska Hargitay. Meloni is currently starring in WGN America’s newest series “Underground,” which follows a group of slaves who plan a daring escape from a Georgia plantation.

“Think ‘Oz,’ think ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,’ think ‘Wet Hot American Summer,’ and you’ll have some idea of the variety, scope, startling candor and unbridled hilarity Christopher Meloni brought to our ‘Inside the Actors Studio’ stage,” said Lipton.

Washington, D.C. native Christopher Meloni began his career studying acting at the University of Colorado, Boulder before graduating with a degree in History. He worked in construction and as a bouncer before breaking into acting, studying his craft in New York. His television breakout role was on “NYPD Blue,” which led to being cast on HBO’s gritty landmark series “Oz.”

In 1999, Meloni landed his starring role on the popular and long-running NBC series “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” while working simultaneously on “Oz” for four years. He continued on “Law & Order: SVU” for twelve seasons, earning an Emmy nomination for his performance as Detective Elliot Stabler. He then went on to star in several other series such as “True Blood,” “Veep,” and the Netflix series “Wet Hot American Summer,” which is the prequel to the cult film in which he also starred. Meloni’s big screen credits include cult favorites Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Wet Hot American Summer, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle, and Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay as well as films including Man of Steel, Twelve Monkeys, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Runaway Bride and Nights in Rodanthe.
